Sonalika May Invest ₹620 Crore in Greater Noida R&D Centre: Reports

According to media reports and industry sources, International Tractors Limited (ITL), the parent company of Sonalika and Solis tractors, has applied for environmental clearance to set up an Engineering, Research and Development (ER&D) facility at the Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida (IITGNL) in Uttar Pradesh.
As per the reports, the proposed facility will be spread across 25 acres and involve an estimated investment of ₹620 crore. The project is also expected to create more than 1,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. However, the company has not yet made an official announcement regarding the proposed investment.
Proposed Facility Could Strengthen Sonalika's R&D Capabilities
If approved, the new Engineering, Research and Development centre could help Sonalika enhance its product development capabilities and accelerate innovation in agricultural machinery. The facility may support the development of new technologies and future tractor models for both domestic and international markets.

The development comes at a time when Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a major destination for investments from leading tractor manufacturers. According to reports, New Holland, a part of CNH, and Escorts Kubota have also been allotted land in Jewar for setting up greenfield manufacturing facilities.
These developments highlight the growing interest of tractor manufacturers in expanding their operations in the state, driven by improving infrastructure and increasing opportunities in the agricultural machinery sector.
