Escorts Kubota Launches Powertrac Shaurya Paddy Tractors in South

Escorts Kubota Limited has launched the Powertrac Shaurya tractor series, a new range developed specially for paddy farming in Southern India. The series includes five variants in the 39 HP to 52 HP category. This is the first time the Powertrac brand has introduced a dedicated tractor line focused on wetland and paddy field operations. The company aims to strengthen its presence in key southern states such as Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka through this launch.

The Company’s Tractor Brand Position

Escorts Kubota operates three tractor brands in India: Kubota, Farmtrac, and Powertrac, serving different customer segments. Powertrac mainly caters to the value and mass segment across multiple agricultural uses.

Designed for Wet and Muddy Fields

The "Shaurya" series is built to work in waterlogged conditions common in paddy cultivation. The tractors come with cassette-type sealing in key aggregates to reduce the entry of water and mud during operations. They feature a turning radius of 3.1 metres for better movement in small and medium fields. The tractors are equipped with a fully constant mesh gearbox with 8 forward and 2 reverse gears.

Depending on the variant, the series offers Sensi-1 hydraulic lift capacity ranging from 1600 kg to 2000 kg. An independent PTO lever with a double clutch setup supports better implement control and advanced applications such as baler use. The tractors also provide dual PTO speeds (540/1000) along with reverse PTO to support different paddy operations. Other features include a perforated elevated platform for wetland work, protected wiring inside the fender channel, and an adjustable sliding seat with anti-slip pads for longer working hours.

What the Company Leaders said

Chairman and Managing Director Nikhil Nanda said Southern India is important for the company’s next growth phase. He added that the Shaurya launch supports the company’s focus on application-based products for paddy markets. Deputy Managing Director Akira Kato said the product was developed after closely studying real wetland field conditions.

Whole-time Director and CFO Bharat Madan noted that this launch will strengthen the company’s position in the paddy segment in Southern markets. Chief Officer – Tractor Business Division Neeraj Mehra added that the Shaurya series matches the working needs of paddy growers, especially in wet farming conditions.

The Powertrac Shaurya series will be available through authorised Powertrac dealerships across Southern India.
