Domestic Tractor Sales Recorded 31.08% Growth in Feb’21

Domestic tractor sales recorded 31.08% growth in Feb’21. It is a good sign for the tractor industry as the sales increased every consecutive month. The total 75645 units sold in Feb 2021, and sales were recorded 57710 units in Feb 2020 which clearly shows 31.8% growth in domestic tractor sales. Mahindra, TAFE, Escorts, Sonalika recorded highest ever February month sales. 

Following we are going to show brand wise domestic sales reports. Let’s get started. 

Mahindra Tractors Domestic sales in February 2021 were at 27,170 units, as against 21,877 units during February 2020.Total tractor sales (Domestic + Exports) during February 2021 were at 28,146 units, as against 22,561 units for the same period last year. Exports for the month stood at 976 units. But, Mahindra lost its market share by 1.99%.

Commenting on the performance, Hemant Sikka, President - Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, "We have sold 27,170 tractors in the domestic market during February 2021 with a growth of 24% over last year. Tractor demand continues to be robust with Rabi sowing at an all-time high, supported by healthy reservoir levels and higher liquidity with farmers, on account of timely and robust procurement of Kharif crops. The outlook for the industry continues to be positive given the all-time high estimates of Rabi production and strong rural cash flows. In the exports market, we have sold 976 tractors, a growth of 43% over last year."

Tafe Group tractor sales registered a 62.88% hike in Feb 2021. Eicher + Massey Ferguson sold 13713 units in Feb 2021, against 8419 units sold in Feb 2020. Along with this, the Tafe group recorded 3.54% growth in its Market share this month. 

In the current quarter Escorts is performing outstanding with maintaining No.3 manufacturer position in domestic market. Escorts recorded 32.81% growth in their Feb 2021 Domestic sales. The company sold 8049 units in Feb 2020, and it recorded 10690 units sold in Feb 2021. With this, Escorts group added 0.18% of the market share. 

Escorts company said in a statement “The tractor demand is expected to continue to be strong on back of positive macroeconomic factors and strong rural cash flows. The supply side situation is normal, but rising inflation continues to be a worry”

Fastest growing Tractor brand of India Sonalika tractors also recorded 21.14% growth in Feb 2021. They sold 9758 units in 2021 Feb and 8055 units in Feb 2020, which is a good sign for a company. But, this time, Sonalika tractor lost 1.06% market share in Feb 2021. 

Sonalika has intensified its performance in FY’21 to record its highest ever cumulative domestic tractor sales of 1,06,432 tractors in just 11 months and register growth of 35.5% as compared to same period last year. The splendid accomplishment also denotes the fastest ever 1 lakh tractor sales among all tractor brands in domestic market since inception. India’s fastest growing tractor brand, Sonalika hasoverall sold 11,821 tractors in Feb’21, as compared to 9,650 tractors sold in Feb’20

Sharing his thoughts on achieving an extraordinary feat, Mr. Raman Mittal, Executive Director, Sonalika Group, said, “I feel overwhelmed in sharing that we have crossed our highest ever cumulative domestic sales of 1,06,432 tractors in just 11 months (April’20-Feb’21),registering growth of 35.5% as compared to same period last year. Notably, it is also the fastest ever 1 lakh domestic tractor sales by any tractor brand in the Indian market since its inception and clearly reflects on the growing trust of farmers in Sonalika. The sublime performance that Sonalika has posted month after month throughout in FY’21 is an outcome of our strategic decision to periodically launch customised tractors that are equipped with advanced yet affordable technologies.”

John Deere Tractor is a US brand that has a massive demand in the Indian market. John Deere Tractor sales raised by 13.81%. The company sales were 7079 units in Feb 2021 and 6220 units in Feb 2020. But, with Sonalika, they also lost 1.42% market share. 

New Holland Tractor registered a 45.13% tractor sales hike in Feb 2021. The company sold 2936 units in Feb 2021 and 2023 units in Feb 2020. Along with this, the New Holland tractor maintains a 0.38% market share. 

Kubota tractor has also recorded growth in sales. They sold 1511 units in Feb 2021, which is 51.55% more than tractor sales in Feb 2020. With this, Kubota tractor added 0.27% of the market share. 

Preet Tractor domestic sales increased unbelievably. They recorded 421.33% domestic tractor sales in Feb 2021. With this, Preet tractor gains a 0.77% market share. 

Indo Farm Tractor domestic sales noted 465 units in Feb 2021, and it registered 249 units in Feb 2020. They reported a gain of 86.75%. The Indo Farm Tractor market share increased by 0.18%. 

VST Tractor domestic sales decline this month. It registered 443 units in Feb 2021 against 500 units in Feb 2020. This displays an 11.40% decrease, and it also lost 0.28% of the market share. 

Force Tractor gained 7.26% in its domestic sales this month. Force tractor domestic sales noted in Feb 2021 were 384 units, and in September 2020 were 358 units. But, they lost 0.11% of the market share. 

Captain Tractor Brand faces a vast decrease in domestic tractor sales in Feb 2021. Sales declined by 23.23% in Feb 2021. Along with this, the company also faced a 0.29% drop in market share. 

ACE Tractor also registered 3.63% growth in domestic tractor sales. As it registered 200 units sold in Feb 2021 and in Feb 2020, the sales were 193 units. 

In Feb 2021, SDF Tractor sales noted 200 units, 5.21% lower than the tractor sales recorded in Feb 2020. SDF Tractor also lost 0.16% of market share in Feb 2021.
