Retail Tractors Sales Report August 2023: Tractor Sales Rise By 13.58%, 73,849 Units Sold

5 August 2023, FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations of India) released a retail tractor sales report. The overall data shows a 13.58% growth in tractor sales. 73,849 units were sold in August 2023, against 65,018 in August 2022. This sales data depicts that August 2023 was a nice month for the OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). 

Retail Tractor Sales Data August 2023 - Brand Wise

In August 2023, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.'s tractor division sold 17,921 tractors, a significant increase from the 11,681 units sold in August 2022, marking a remarkable growth of 53.42%.

In August 2023, MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA LIMITED (SWARAJ DIVISION) sold 13,400 tractors, which is a significant increase of approximately 63.85% compared to the 8,178 units sold in August 2022. However, their market share stood at 5.57%.

TAFE Tractor achieved robust sales in August 2023, with 9,560 tractors sold compared to 7,487 units in August 2022, marking an impressive growth of nearly 27.68%. This growth also saw them secure a market share of 1.43%.

Meanwhile, Sonalika Tractor saw a substantial increase of 15.97%, selling 8,458 tractors in August 2023 compared to 7,293 units in August 2022.

Escorts Limited Ltd achieved impressive tractor sales, delivering 7,432 tractors in August 2023, marking a substantial growth of nearly 51.24% compared to the 4,914 tractors sold in August 2022.

Eicher also made good tractor sales in August 2023, selling 4,951 units, compared to the retail sales of 4,245 units in August 2022, a nice growth of 16.63%.

John Deere sold 4,935 tractors in Aug'23 and 4,773 tractors in Aug'22, registering a commendable growth of 3.39%.

CNH INDUSTRIAL Tractor experienced substantial growth, with sales reaching 2,382 tractors in August 2023, up from 1,991 tractors in August 2022, indicating a remarkable increase of nearly 19.63%.

Kubota sold 1,499 tractors in August 2023, a slight increase from the 1,482 tractors sold in August 2022, marking a growth of 1.14%. However, its market share saw a small decrease of -0.25%.

CAPTAIN TRACTOR had a strong performance in August 2023, selling 1,055 units. This marked a significant growth of 265.0% compared to the retail sales of 289 units in August 2022.

In August 2023, V.S.T. TILLERS TRACTORS achieved a notable feat by selling 569 tractors, a substantial increase from the 381 tractors sold in August 2022. This impressive performance translated into a robust double-digit growth rate of 49.34%, and the company maintained a 0.18% market share.

Regarding other tractor brands, their retail sales for August '23 were 1,687 units against 12,304 units in August '22, a decline (negative growth) of nearly 86.28%.
