Retail Tractor Sales Report June 2025 – Sales Rise by 8.68%, 77,214 Units Sold

07 July 2025: The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has released retail sales data for the Indian tractor segment for June 2025. According to the latest figures, the industry clocked total retail sales of 77,214 units, reflecting a growth of 8.68% compared to 71,047 units sold in June 2024.

Despite mixed performances across brands, the overall market benefited from early monsoon activity and sustained rural demand, pushing total volumes upward.

Brand-Wise Tractor Sales Performance – June 2025

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (Tractor Division) retained its leadership position, selling 17,518 units, up from 16,335 units in June 2024. This marks a 7.24% growth in sales. However, the brand saw a 0.30% decline in market share, dropping from 22.99% to 22.69% year-on-year.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (Swaraj Division) followed with 14,286 units sold, registering a 7.39% growth from 13,303 units in June 2024. Despite this growth, its market share declined slightly by 0.22%, from 18.72% to 18.50%.

International Tractors Ltd (makers of Sonalika tractors) posted a strong performance with 10,136 units sold, up from 9,249 units last year. This translates to a 9.59% growth, with its market share inching up by 0.11%, from 13.02% to 13.13%.

TAFE Ltd reported 9,804 units sold in June 2025, compared to 8,649 units a year ago. The company saw a 13.35% growth, and its market share rose by 0.53%, from 12.17% to 12.70%.

Escorts Kubota Ltd (Agri Machinery Group) sold 8,443 units, up from 7,545 units in June 2024, showing a 11.90% rise. Its market share grew by 0.31%, moving from 10.62% to 10.93%.

John Deere India Pvt Ltd (Tractor Division) posted 6,212 units, a 13.05% increase over 5,495 units sold last June. Its market share improved to 8.05% from 7.73%, reflecting a 0.32% gain.

Eicher Tractors saw marginal growth with 4,698 units sold, compared to 4,622 units last year—an increase of 1.64%. However, the brand lost 0.43% market share, dropping from 6.51% to 6.08%.

CNH Industrial (India) Pvt Ltd recorded a significant jump of 18.01%, selling 3,381 units against 2,865 units in June 2024. Its market share climbed from 4.03% to 4.38%, gaining 0.35%.

Kubota Agricultural Machinery India Pvt Ltd experienced the sharpest decline, with sales plummeting by 48.08%, from 1,223 units to just 635 units. Its market share fell drastically by 0.90%, from 1.72% to 0.82%.

Other Brands, including smaller and regional players, collectively sold 2,101 units, up from 1,761 units last year. This represents a 19.31% growth, with their market share rising from 2.48% to 2.72%, a 0.24% increase.

The tractor industry's 8.68% growth in June signals a stable start to the monsoon season and ongoing rural resilience. While brands like CNH, TAFE, and John Deere showed double-digit growth, market share shifts suggest growing competition in the mid-tier segment. However, Kubota’s sharp drop remains a concern amidst an otherwise positive trend.
