Haryana Farmers to Get ₹5 Lakh Subsidy on E-Tractors

Published - 25 May 2026 by Sakshi Yadav

The Haryana government has announced a subsidy scheme for farmers who want to buy electric tractors. Under this scheme, farmers can get up to ₹5 lakh subsidy on E-Tractors. According to the shared information, a 45 HP electric tractor currently costs around ₹15 lakh. However, the government is reportedly in discussions with tractor manufacturing companies to further reduce the price by around ₹2 lakh.

After this price reduction, the tractor price may come down to ₹13 lakh. Farmers can then receive a subsidy of ₹5 lakh from the Haryana government. This means the final cost for farmers could be around ₹8 lakh. The scheme aims to support farmers in shifting towards modern and environment-friendly farming methods.

Main Benefits of Electric Tractors for Farmers

The update shared several benefits that electric tractors may offer to farmers in daily agricultural work. One of the biggest advantages is lower fuel expenses. Since E-Tractors run on electricity instead of diesel, farmers may spend less money on fuel during field operations and transport work.

Another major benefit is reduced pollution. Traditional diesel tractors release smoke and harmful gases, while electric tractors can help create a cleaner farming environment. This may improve air quality in villages and agricultural areas. The government also believes that electric tractors can help farmers move towards modern farming methods. With the use of advanced agricultural machinery, farmers may be able to perform different farming tasks more efficiently.

Key Information Shared in the Announcement

The Haryana government recently held discussions to promote the use of electric tractors among farmers in the state. During these discussions, officials and tractor manufacturing companies reportedly discussed ways to reduce the overall cost of E-Tractors so that more farmers can buy them easily.

As per the shared information, a 45 HP electric tractor currently costs around ₹15 lakh. However, tractor companies may reduce the price by nearly ₹2 lakh after discussions with the government. This could bring the tractor price down to around ₹13 lakh.

In addition to this, the Haryana government plans to provide a subsidy of up to ₹5 lakh to eligible farmers. After combining the company price reduction and government subsidy, the final cost of the tractor may come down to nearly ₹8 lakh for farmers.
