Zoomlion Unveils World’s Most Powerful 1,600 HP Hybrid Tractor

Chinese agricultural equipment manufacturer Zoomlion has claimed the title of building the world’s most powerful tractor. It earned the record after revealing its 1,600-horsepower 9DX hybrid model at the China International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition (CIAME). This new machine easily beats the previous record holder, the 913-horsepower John Deere 9RX 830.

Here is what we know about the tractor so far:

Technical Specifications & Performance

The 9DX tractor is engineered specifically for demanding, high intensity operations on large scale farms. This tractor integrates cutting edge hybrid architecture designed for extreme heavy duty applications:

• Powertrain Architecture: Powered by an 800V dual motor coupling system paired with a hybrid continuously variable transmission (CVT).
• Power Output & Speed: Generates a peak output of 1,600 horsepower and 7,200 Nm of maximum torque, reaching top speeds of up to 40 km/h and negotiating slopes over 12 degrees.
• Hydraulic Flow: Outfitted with an ultra high hydraulic capacity delivering 636 L/min to drive wide seeders and large scale tillage machinery.
• Traction Design: Features an independently developed four track drive system with 762 mm (30 inch) wide rubber tracks to significantly lower soil compaction.

Despite displaying flagship operational metrics, Zoomlion has not disclosed every technical detail. The exact internal combustion engine working with the electric motors remains unannounced. Also, Zoomlion hasn't released the tractor's weight, which is important for turning all that power into solid grip on the ground.

"We will provide an update when more information becomes available," stated industry tracking source Future Farming, noting the limited preliminary technical data released by the manufacturer.
