Domestic Wholesale Tractor Sales Dropped by 22.5% in Nov 2021

In November 2021, domestic tractor sales recorded a 22.52% drop compared to the previous year. The total domestic sales recorded 63791 units in November 2021 against 82330 units in November 2020. This shows a large fall in domestic tractor sales. Have a look at brand-wise domestic tractor sales in Nov 2021. 

Brand Wise Domestic Tractor Sales 

Mahindra Tractor registered a fall in domestic tractor sales by 5525 units. The brand sold 26094 units in November 2021, 17.47% less than the tractor sold in November 2020. On the other hand, Mahindra Tractor market share rose by 2.50%, Its highest market share gain among all the manufacturers. 

Commenting on the performance, Hemant Sikka, President – Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “We have sold 26,094 tractors in the domestic market during November 2021. De-growth over November 2020 is due to the high base of last year and incessant rains in some states. Rural sentiments continue to remain positive on account of good Rabi sowing and high reservoir levels. Escalation in procurement for Kharif crops will bring steady cash flows, which is expected to boost tractor demand going forward. In the exports market, we have sold 1,587 tractors, a growth of 43 per cent over last year.”

TAFE Group recorded a 23.92% loss in their November 2021 Tractor Domestic sales. The company sold 10707 units in November 2021, and it recorded 14074 units sold in November 2020. The TAFE group also lost 0.31% of the market share. 

 

Sonalika tractors registered a 24.34% decrease in their domestic tractor sales, reporting 8684 units domestic tractor sales in November 2021 against 11478 units sold during November 2020. Sonalika Tractors market share fell by 0.33% in November 221.

Escorts Tractor sales dropped by 32.55% in November 2021. The company recorded 6517 units in November 2021, and tractor sales recorded 9662 units in November 2020. Despite that, the Escorts tractor company lost 1.52% of its market share this month.

Escorts company said in a statement “Delayed harvest of Kharif crops owing to late monsoon rains this year affected the rural cash flows and hence the retail demand. This we believe is a temporary phenomenon and cash flows should start improving soon as Kharif harvest gets fully monetized. Industry wholesale in November was further impacted by post-season channel destocking. Going forward all macroeconomic factors remain in favour of the tractor industry. However high inflation remains a worry impacting profitability”

John Deere Tractor sales also decreased in November month. The brand recorded 5248 units in November 2021, and in November 2020, it was 7825 units which is an evident 32.93% decrease in Tractor sales. John Deere lost 1.28% of its market share this month

New Holland Tractor registering a 5.85% degrowth in domestic tractor sales, from 2656 units in November 2020 to 2821 units in November 2020. As a result, however, its market share changed from 3.43% to 4.16%.

Kubota Tractor sold 1502 units in November 2021, and in November 2020, the sales were 2068 units, which shows a decline of 27.37%. Besides, the Kubota Tractor also lost its market share by 0.16% this month. 

In November 2021, Indo Farm Tractor domestic sales displayed a 31.71% hike. The company registered 540 units of domestic tractor sales in November 2021, which is 130 units more than November 2020 Indo Farm Tractor domestic sales. Additionally, the brand secures 0.35% of the market share.

Preet Tractor reported a growth of 8.25% in domestic tractor sales, with 525 units sold in November 2021 against 485 units during the same period last year. The company's market share increased from 0.59% to 0.82%.

VST tractor registered 432 units of tractor sales in November 2021 against 704 units which exhibit a 38.64% decline. Along with this, the company dropped a 0.18% market share in November 2021.

Force Tractor sales recorded single digit fall this November 2021. The brand recorded 308 units in November 2021, and in November 2020, it was 382 units which is an evident 6.10% loss this month. But, the Force Tractor also gained 0.08% of the market share.

Captain Tractor sales lost by approximately 39.94% in November 2021, with sales of 218 units against 363 units in November 2020. Along with this, the company's domestic market share decreased by 0.10%.

ACE Tractor recorded 201 units in November 2021, and the sales were recorded 238 units in November 2020, which shows a 15.55% decline in the domestic tractor sales this month. ACE Tractor gained the market share by 0.03%. 

SDF Tractor also registered a 37.65% decline in the domestic tractor market in November 2021. The SDF Tractor brand sold 159 units in November 2021, and in November 2020, their tractor sales were 255 units. However, they lost market share by only 0.06 % this month.
