VST Group Appointed the New Chairman Mr. Arun Surendra as of the Tillers Tractors

Bengaluru-based VST Group has named Arun V Surendra as the Chairman of VST Tillers Tractors Ltd. Arun, a third-generation member of the VST family, also serves as the Managing Director of VST Group. The conglomerate oversees three main sectors: a publicly listed tractors and tillers company, a non-banking financial company (NBFC), and a chain of auto dealerships representing top-tier global brands.

In an interview with BusinessLine, Arun discussed the recent leadership transition in the tractor division. Outgoing Chairman V K Surendra expressed confidence in Arun's forward-thinking leadership, emphasising his role as a torchbearer of the company's values. 

Arun highlighted the growth potential of the NBFC segment, foreseeing it as a significant driver of growth for the next five years. Additionally, he noted the company's endeavours in investigating electric tractors and tillers to address the distinct hurdles of the Indian agricultural industry.

In the automotive domain, Arun oversees a varied range of 11 brands, such as Mercedes Benz, Jaguar Land Rover, and Porsche. He emphasised the company's ability to withstand challenges and its profitability following the pandemic. He credited the robust growth to market adjustments and increased demand.

Regarding family involvement and succession planning, Arun focused on the importance of transparency and shared vision among family members. He mentioned the existence of a family constitution aimed at preserving the group's core values. "I see it as my responsibility to maintain transparency and trust among family members and within the group," Arun remarked.
