Swaraj Tractors Production Grows Five Times Since 2002, Touches 25 Lakh Units

Swaraj Tractors has created history by rolling out its 25 lakh tractor. The milestone was achieved on August 29, 2025, at the company’s main factory in Mohali, Punjab.

Swaraj, part of the Mahindra Group, is today one of India’s largest tractor manufacturers. In 2022, it had completed 20 lakh units. In just three years, another 5 lakh tractors were produced, making Swaraj the fastest-growing tractor company in India.

From Swaraj 724 to 25 Lakh Tractor Units

Swaraj’s journey started in 1974 with the launch of its first tractor, the Swaraj 724, a 20–25 HP machine. It was India’s first tractor that was fully designed and built by Indian engineers. The brand was born during the Green Revolution. The name Swaraj stands for independence and self-reliance. The tractors were strong, reliable, and affordable, built specially for Indian farms.

By 2002, Swaraj had crossed 5 lakh units. In the 23 years since, the company has grown five times bigger to reach the 25 lakh mark, showing the deep trust of Indian farmers.
