After earning a gold medal in econometrics from the University of Madras, Srinivasan continued her education with an MBA from the prestigious Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, where she is currently ranked among the top 125 alumni.

When she joined the family business in 1986, Tafe had a meagre Rs 85 crore in revenue. She was General Manager there. Under the direction of her father, Srinivasan and her group turned Tafe into a tech-focused business that farmers now choose. Srinivasan assumed leadership of TAFE in 1999.

With an annual revenue of Rs 10,000 crore, Tafe has grown to be the second-largest tractor manufacturer in India and the third-largest tractor manufacturer globally under the capable direction of Srinivasan. Every year, TAFE sells more than 180,000 tractors both domestically and abroad.

In addition, she serves as Chair of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), which is a division of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension's Department of Personnel & Training.
