Powerland Agro unveils new tractor range

PANAJI: A versatile small tractor for farmers Powerland 900d was launched by Powerland Agro Tractor Vehicles at Mandovi Riviera recently. The multi utility vehicle is not only reasonably priced but also adaptable on different terrains. It can tow, plough and spray besides run power tools and homes. With fuel efficiency of 20 km per litre, it provides comfort seating with independent suspension. It can manouvre with ease through orchards with its sheer width of 4 feet and pulling power of 750 kg. The introductory price is Rs 3,75,000 and is marketed simultaneously in Goa and Maharashtra. Available in red, the company plans to get clearance for white, black, blue and orange colours.
With specification of 2 speed automatic CVT transmission, it is entrusted with selective on fly 2ws/4wd besides rear tow hitch, front winch, alloy wheels, mobile charging socket, disk brakes and multi-functional digital instrument cluster.
Powerland Agro owner Narayan P Naik said, “Our dream to introduce this tractor to farmers has at last come true after a decade. 80% of the parts are imported from China and are assembled here. China gives good quality stuff and is good at global sourcing. It gives a price which no one else gives in the world. They have developed different machineries and technologies. They export to the whole world. In fact, I had represented our case and they have manufactured this tractor according to Indian conditions. We have imported 800 cc v win liquid cooled engine with an ECU. The best companies in China include Trem-Stage III A emission standard which I got approved in India. Here we have the bureaucracy besides rules and regulations which are unending that needs to be relaxed.’’
The tractor is a unique business venture of Narayan Naik with his sons Jeet and Tej. On the future plans Narayan Nai said, “I want to create other models of the same tractor at a higher price which will be more attractive with power steering by the end of 2017. It will be priced at Rs 4,00,000 and my passion is to play with diesel motors. This tractor’s engines will be delivered by October. We have not yet taken orders as we wanted to launch it first. As of now we have got clearance for red but later for other colours. Many prefer black in Goa but not in other states such as Maharashtra.’’
