Mahindra Introduces CNG Tractor at Agrovision Nagpur

Mahindra Tractors, India’s leading tractor brand, revealed its groundbreaking CNG mono-fuel tractor during the opening day of Agrovision, Central India's prestigious Agri Summit in Nagpur on November 27. The event saw the esteemed presence of Shri Nitin Gadkari, the Honourable Minister of Road, Transport, and Highway, Government of India.

Mahindra, drawing on its vast experience in CNG vehicles, focuses on top-notch emission control, performance, and operational cost efficiency. The freshly unveiled CNG tractor, crafted and tested at Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai, promises diesel-equivalent power and performance. 

This new CNG tractor cuts emissions by almost 70% compared to diesel tractors. Additionally, reduced engine vibrations result in a substantial noise level decrease, measuring 3.5 decibels lower than diesel tractors. These enhancements not only extend the tractor's operational hours and increase its overall lifespan but also significantly improve the comfort of operators. It proves valuable for various tasks, both in agriculture and beyond.

The tractor's CNG technology equips it to handle various agricultural and haulage tasks, matching the capabilities of traditional diesel tractors. Featuring four tanks with a water capacity of 45 litres each or 24 kilograms of gas at 200-bar pressure, it promises operational efficiency and convenience.

Plus, it saves about Rs 100 per hour compared to diesel tractors, making it a good, affordable choice which could have a  big impact on the market.

Mahindra will introduce CNG tractors in stages, carefully evaluating the market's readiness and response to this innovative technology. The launch at Agrovision Nagpur shows Mahindra's dedication to bringing sustainable and advanced solutions to Indian agriculture.
