Climate Requirement

The dry & cool climates are ideal for mustard farming. The rainfall is needed for 625 - 1000 mm annually.

Soil Condition

Mustard can be grown in sandy and loamy sand soils. And the ideal space for Sarso farming must be 45cm x20 cm.

Plantation

The month of Sept-Oct is suitable for mustard plantation. It matures in around 110 to 160 days.

Land Preparation

It requires 1 to 2 ploughings for the soil to a fine tilth for mustard farming. With a good amount of organic manures, it conserves moisture in the field.
