Found in India's sub-mountainous regions, these giant bees build 6x3ft combs. They relocate often and yield 36kg of honey per year. Known for their aggressiveness.
They make vertical or palm-sized combs, yielding 0.5 kg honey/year. It is hard to rear due to frequent movement. Found in plains under 450m.
These bees build multiple combs, yielding 6-8 kg honey/year. Bigger than Apis florae smaller than Apis mellifera. Prone to swarming, from India/Asia.
These bees resemble Indian bees, making parallel combs. Larger than most except Apis dorsata, they produce 25-40 kg on average. Imported from Italy, they're less likely to swarm or leave.
Dammer bees are smaller, create irregular combs, aid in pollination, and defend by biting intruders, yet yield only 100 gms of honey per hive/year.
