The state produces 329.70 million kgs of tea over 140.44 thousand hectares of land. It produces green tea, oolong tea, black tea, white tea & others.
The state produces 161.46 million kgs of tea on average. It has favourable rainfall and geographical conditions for growing flavoured tea.
Due to its favourable climate and rainfall, the state produces 56.63 million kgs of tea over 35.01 thousand hectares of land.
Karnataka has the 5th position, producing 6.46 million kgs of tea over 2.22 thousand hectares of land.
Tripura produces 9-10 lakh kg of tea (10% of the country's production) across 12,990 hectares annually.
