Ranking first on the list Karnataka has a share of 30.63% of the national market, with 4,210.87 tonnes produced in the year 2020-21. 5 Lakh hectares have coconuts in Karnataka.
With 3,751.28 tonnes contributing to about 27.45% of the national market share, Tamil Nadu finds itself in the second position.
Next in the list comes Kerala, which produced 3,307.78 tonnes of coconuts in the year 2020-2021. That’s about 24.22%, but they consistently produce about 45% of India’s coconuts.
Achieving a coconut market share of 8.25%, Andhra produces about 1127.27 tonnes in the year 2020-21. It has about 5.5 Lakh hectares of land for coconuts.
West Bengal produced about 278.73 tonnes of coconuts in the year 2020-21, making it the 5th largest producer during the year.
Finally, Odisha contributes to about 273.32 tonnes of national production in the year 2020-21. This makes it the 6th largest producer of coconuts in India.
