Jammu and Kashmir produces pear on 6311 hectares of land. Budgam is the highest producer district followed by Kupwara. This state contributes 30-35% to the national market.
Himachal Pradesh produced 10,000 tonnes of pears in the year. The main districts which contribute in pear production are Shimla, Kullu, and Kinnaur.
By achieving annual production of 0.788 lakh MT, Uttarakhand is one of the largest pear-producing states in India. This state has 13,200 hectares of pear cultivated area.
The fourth pear producer on the list is Punjab, which produces around 42940 tonnes annually. It has 2147 hectares of cultivated area for pear production.
Bartlett, Bosc, and Jargonelle are the major varieties of pears produced in Tamil Nadu. The best time to plant pears in this state is from June to December.
