In India, 2,50,000 farmers are engaged in coffee production. And India exports 80% of coffee production.
Karnataka is the largest producer of coffee and the production is 2.33 lakh metric tons. Also, Karnataka grows 70% of coffee in India.
Kerala stands for 2nd position in producing coffee in India. Also, it is known for 2 famous coffee varieties such as Arabica and Robusta.
The third biggest producer of coffee is Tamil Nadu with 17,875 metric tonnes and it grows Arabica coffee over 16,000 hectares of land.
The fourth position stands for Andhra Pradesh for producing 7,425 metric tons of coffee & “Araku” coffee is famous in Andhra Pradesh.
Odisha comes in 5th position for producing coffee. Rayagada, Koraput and other regions produce coffee at maximum volume.
