Loamy soil, well-drained with a pH ranging between 6-7, is good for rose cultivation. Sandy soil provides the best rooting medium for roses.
A day temperature of 26 degrees Celsius & 15 degrees Celsius at night is ideal for rose cultivation. Provide 5-6 hours of sunlight to promote vegetative growth.
Ploughing the soil 60-90 cm deep is important to achieve fine tilth, followed by best practices to remove weeding.
Plant the roses after the monsoon. Sep-Oct is the ideal time for planting roses. However, in the hills, Feb-March is the ideal time.
Watering plants until cutting or plants are established is important. Later on, provide irrigation twice a week.
4-8 kg of cow dung, a little BHC mixed in organic matter & organic liquid manure created by fermented gingelly oil cake are vital nutrients for roses.
