It is the excess amount of salt in the soil which leads to erosion of land.
Excessive irrigation and accumulation of salts from groundwater results in Soil Salinity.
Soil Salinity causes loss of infrastructure, crop damage, water quality reduction and wastage of energy to desalinate the soil.
Ensuring proper drainage and growing those plants which can absorb the salt from land are considered effective solutions to decrease Soil Salinity.
Saline Soil contains excess soluble salts whereas Sodic Soils only have unwanted Sodium Cations present in it.
