Oranges can thrive in deep soils with a pH ranging between 5.5 to 7.5, followed by good drainage properties.
The planting space for the orange should be 4.5 to 6 metres, and the pit's dimensions should be 50cm X 50 cm X 50 cm.
The water supply should be between 900-1100 mm per year, depending upon the location or the area of cultivation.
Oranges can be intercropped alongside cowpeas, french beans, soybean, gram, peas, etc.
Oranges mature in about 240-280 days, and February to March is the ideal time to harvest fruits.
