Published Sep 17, 2024

Onam 2024 is not just a harvest festival; it honours farmers' hard work and vital role in the community. It celebrates their contributions with joy and gratitude, bringing people together in unity.

Agriculture Minister P. Prasad has spearheaded an initiative to boost floriculture. For Onam 2024, he has produced 3,000 marigolds, enhancing the festival’s floral displays and supporting local farmers.

The Onam feast, or Sadhya, features dishes made from locally grown produce. Farmers’ fresh vegetables, fruits, and grains are essential ingredients in this elaborate meal.

Pookalam, intricate flower carpets, are crafted using flowers from local farms. This tradition showcases the beauty of agricultural produce and the artistic skills of the community.

Onam marks the end of the harvest season. It’s a celebration of the bountiful crops that farmers have gathered, reflecting their hard work and dedication throughout the year.
