Uttar Pradesh is the biggest producer of mangoes, with a staggering 2.5 million metric tons produced annually, which is 25% of the entire country’s production.
Second on the list is Andhra Pradesh, with over 1.2 million metric tons of mango production every year, accounting for roughly 22% of the total production of India.
Third on the list is Karnataka, which produces a total of 1 million metric tons each year, which is 10% of the country’s mangoes production.
Bihar also sits in the same place as Karnataka, with a yearly mango production of 1 million metric tons, accounting for 10% of India's total production.
Gujarat is a western state with an ideal hot and dry climate that is well-suited for cultivating Kesar and Kesari types of mangoes.
Tamil Nadu is known for its highest-quality Alphonso mango production in the entire country. This is one of the biggest states for Alphonso mangoes in India.
