Some mango varieties have a growth period of August to September, while others grow from February to March. Mangoes prefer frost free climates, no matter the variety.
Warm dry weather helps mango growth, so do low rainfall and low humidity. The ideal temperature range is between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius.
Based on the availability and your personal preference, you can choose the right mango variety for you. They range from Alphonso to Dasheri, Kesar to Langra.
Adequate water and balanced fertilizers are ideal for growing mangoes in your farm field. Just understand that mangoes aren’t rainfed crops.
Pests and diseases should be identified and then controlling them would be easier. Some examples of pests would be hoppers, flies, and mealybugs.
