First, sanitise the jars with alcohol and make four holes in the lids. Now, mix water, rice flour, and vermiculite in a 2-2-5 ratio for the substrate. Fill the jars, top with dry vermiculite, and steam sterilise for 1:15-1:30 hrs.
Place jars in a clean, shaded area. Monitor at 70-80°F (21-27°C). Expect mycelium growth in 1-2 weeks. Watch for contamination; discard affected jars. Expect full colonization in 3-5 weeks.
Drill 1/4" holes all over the container. Elevate on towel-covered stable objects. Soak perlite, drain, and spread 4-5" in the chamber base for humidity.
Remove vermiculite and tap to release cakes. Rinse and soak in room-temp water for 24 hours. Roll in dry vermiculite. Place on foil over perlite in the grow chamber. Mist 4x daily, fan after each. Watch for mushrooms!
Harvest mushrooms before the veil break for peak potency. Store by drying in a cool, dark place for 2-3 years or freezing indefinitely. Dehydrators are ideal for preserving Psilocybes.
