Gerbera needs 20°C–25°C to grow. Prefers well-drained, light, fertile, slightly alkaline or neutral soil with pH 5.5 to 6.5.

Some popular varieties are Ruby Red, Doni, Carrera etc. Gerbera can be propagated by seeds, buds or tissue culture.

The land should be ploughed three times. The beds should be enriched with manure, sand and husk. The soil should be sterilized by steam or chemicals to prevent diseases.

The best planting time for Gerbera is from June to July or September to October.

Gerbera needs regular irrigation to maintain soil moisture. Drip irrigation is recommended. Gerbera requires balanced fertilization for growth and yield.

Pest management practices include sanitation, traps, predators and pesticides.
