In the fiscal year 2021-22, West Bengal ranked #1 in eggplant production in India, with a total yield of 3,029,020 tonnes. This accounted for 23.72% of the country's total eggplant production for that year.
Orissa ranked #2, produced 2,127,480 tonnes of eggplant in the fiscal year 2021-22, contributing 16.66% to India's total eggplant production for that period.
Gujarat ranked #3, producing 1,533,670 tonnes of eggplant in the fiscal year 2021-22, contributing 12.01% to India's total eggplant production for that period.
Bihar ranked #4, yielded 1,203,770 tonnes of eggplant in the fiscal year 2021-22, representing 9.43% of India's total eggplant production for that period.
Madhya Pradesh, ranked #5, harvested 1,115,560 tonnes of eggplant in the fiscal year 2021-22, contributing 8.74% to India's total eggplant production for that period.
