Gujarat is the highest producer of dates overall in India. Kutch in Gujarat produces the most of the dates with about 18286 ha.
Farmers in Rajasthan account for about 6,426 per month farming dates. Rajasthan produces 1600 tonnes a year and is well known for its diversity and the agricultural base of India.
Maharashtra contributes 24% of horticulture overall in the state. It produces about 171522 MT of dates per year. The state has had sufficient diversification in farming.

Tamil Nadu gives a good number in the contribution to the GDP of its state in date farming. Farmers in Tamil Nadu earn about 6,500 per month selling only dates.
