In the fiscal year 2021, Maharashtra's share in India's coarse cereal production was 11.85%. During that period, Maharashtra produced 7.6 million metric tons of coarse cereals.
Madhya Pradesh's coarse cereal production accounted for 9.65% of India's total. It's consistently among the top five producers, contributing over 60% to the nation's output.
Uttar Pradesh contributed 8.97% to India's coarse cereal production. Key crops include jowar, bajra, and maize, with pearl millet being the most widely grown cereal.
