Climatic Conditions

The ideal temperature for growing breadfruit is 21-32° C. And it is most suited for equatorial lowlands below 600-650 m at elevations up to 1550 m.

Soil Requirements

This traditional Indian fruit requires deep, fertile, well-drained soils with neutral to alkaline acidity (pH 7.4-6.1).

Planting Season & Spacing

The best time to plant this fruit is between June to December. Moreover, the pit size should be around 60 cm X 60 cm X 60 Cm.

Fertilizer Schedule

You should apply N:P:K in the ratio of 7:10:5 for about 1-2 kg per plant. Moreover, adding organic matter of about 25 kg per tree is recommended.

Harvesting & Yield

Breadfruits are ready for harvesting within 3-6 years of planting. With good practices, you can expect a yield of up to 600-2000 fruits per tree.
