Tips for Black Pepper Cultivation in India

Climate Conditions

Black peppers grow in tropical hot & humid conditions with an annual rainfall of 200cm and temperature between 10 to 40 degree C.

Soil Requirements

Suitable to grow in red loam, sandy loam and clay loam soils rich in organic matter & ph between 5.0-6.5.

Irrigation Conditions

Regular irrigation is highly recommended from November to December until the end of March.

Fertiliser Schedule

Applying 10 kg of FYM, including well-rotted cow dung or compost, from April to May, is highly beneficial.

Black pepper is ready to harvest within 6-7 months of planting. Harvesting starts in November & continues till March.
