Apricots are grown in dry temperatures, belongs to the family of rosaceae.

Grows in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and in the northeast, up to an extent.

Dry temperate regions with cool climates are best for growing apricots. Well-drained deep soils with good organic content are best for apricot farming. Ladakh and Kinnaur regions grow apricots in sandy soils.
