Alphonso mangoes, the highly beneficial fruit is called the crown jewel of Indian mangoes. Indulge in their rich flavour and enjoy their numerous benefits as well.

Alphonso mangoes thrive quite well in soil that’s loamy and well drained, and require a tropical climate with temperatures of 24-32°C.Adequate rainfall and sunlight are other requirements.

Before planting your mangoes, clear your land of any weeds or debris. Prepare the soil by adding organic matter and nutrients to promote healthy root development.

Dig a hole deep enough to accommodate the root ball of the sapling. Gently place the sapling in the hole and backfill with soil, firming it around the base.

Regularly water the plants, especially during dry spells. Apply organic fertilisers to nourish the trees. Prune to maintain shape and remove any diseased branches.

Alphonso mangoes are ready for harvest when their skin turns golden yellow and fruit can be easily plucked from the tree. You can use a sharp tool to cut the fruits.
