Triple Digit Tractor Sales Growth Recorded in May 2022

Retail tractor sales touch the sky in May 2022. The data shows a positive sales report in May 2022. Total tractor sales recorded in May 2022 were 52,487 units, and in May 2021, the sales were 16,623 units which shows a clear Triple digit growth in the month. 

Retail Tractor Sales Report By Brand Division

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (Tractors) - The world class tractor company Mahindra & Mahindra recorded a 214.32% tractor sales growth. The company sold 11,960 units in May 2022, which is quite well in comparison to 3,805 units in May 2021. 

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (Swaraj Division) - The Swaraj Division of Mahindra & Mahindra also registered a growth of 197.83%. Swaraj Tractors sold 8,789 units in May 2022. At the same time, 2,951 units were sold in May 2021. 

Hemant Sikka, M&M President Said, Farm Equipment Sector, “this is on the back of the 51% growth achieved in April 2022. With the timely arrival of the south-west monsoon and forecast of a normal monsoon, the kharif crop is expected to deliver record production,”. 

He also added, “food prices continue to be high, ensuring better remuneration for farmers for their produce, creating a positive sentiment and higher demand for tractors and agricultural implements.”

TAFE Limited - The company sold 6,821 units in May 2022, and in May 2021, TAFE Limited sold 1,902 units which clearly shows a growth of 258.62%. The market share of the company also increased by 1.56%. 

International Tractors Limited - The most innovative brand, Sonalika International tractors, also earned a profit in May 2022. The sales increased by 175.77%. They sold 6,111 units in May 2022, which is 3895 units more than in May 2021. 

According to Joint Managing Director, ITL, Mr Raman Mittal, “It feels invigorating as all our concerted efforts have resulted in another electrifying performance by Sonalika in May '22. With a record 42.1% growth, we have registered our highest ever May sales of 12,615 tractors. Sonalika truly believes in addressing specific farmer requirements and delivering dynamic tractor performance as well as affordability for farmer’s peace of mind. Favourable factors such as consistent increase in MSP by the government, improved rabi crop procurement and now the timely arrival of monsoon in the country will set up a viable platform for agriculture activities to flourish in FY’23.”

 

Escorts Limited (Agri Machinery Group) - A purely Indian brand Escorts Limited tractor sales also hiked by 235.02%. As a result, the company also gained a market share of 0.64% in May 2022. 

Escort Machinery Brand said, “rural sentiment gradually improved in spite of low crop yields due to extreme heat conditions this harvest season, on account of better crop price realisation and forecast of normal rainfall and possible timely sowing this year.

Company added, “With recent Government actions, Inflation may stabilise in the near term and operating leverage may further possibly help in partially diluting the impact on margins in coming quarters."

“With Government thrust on infrastructure we expect good recovery in the later part of the current fiscal year 2022-23. But the steep rise in input costs leading to higher owning costs for customers remains a key cause of concern." 

John Deere India PVT LTD (Tractor Division) - The company recorded 3,898 units of tractor sales in May 2022, and the sales were 1,316 units in May 2021. So, the company's tractor sales rose by 196.2%. 

Eicher Tractors - Eicher tractors always won the farmers' trust by supplying quality tractors. This is clarified by 244.71% of tractor sales growth in May 2022. The company also earned a market share of 0.48%. 

CNH Industrial - The brand gained a triple digit growth of 277.55%. The company sold 2,254 units of tractors in May 2022 and 597 units in May 2021. The company maintained its market share by 0.7%. 

Kubota Agricultural Machinery India PVT LTD - The Japanese company's tractor sales boost by 504.69%. Its tractor sales stood at 1,161 units in May 2022 and in May 2021, 192 units. 

VST Tillers Tractors Limited - The brand is a big name among Indian farmers. Its tractor sales were 354 units in May 2022, and in May 2021, it was 81 units. This shows a perfect gain of 337.04%. 

Indo Farm Equipment Limited - The Indo Farm tractor recorded a 265.17% tractor sales growth in May 2022. The company also earned 0.08% of the market share this month. 

Force Motors Limited, A Friodia Enterprise - A popular tractor brand, Force Motors also recorded a growth of 568.89%. The company sold 301 units of tractors in May 2022 against 45 units in May 2021. 

Captain Tractors PVT LTD - The world class mini tractor brand, Captain Tractors earned a 41.44% rose in tractor sales in May. They also gained market share by 0.37%. 

The other tractor sales recorded 1,531 units in May 2022, and the sales were 709 units in May 2021, which shows a gain of 115.94%.
