Swaraj Tractor Honoured Heroes of Agriculture at 4th Edition of Swaraj Awards

Leading Tractor brand Swaraj Tractors, a part of Mahindra Group, hosted its 4th Edition of Swaraj Awards at the Agriculture Concave in New Delhi. The awards recognised the efforts and contributions of farmers and agri-institutions.

The Award ceremony was organised at A.P. Sinde Symposium Hall, NASC Complex, on 14th September 2022. Hon. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was part of the event to facilitate the Awardees.

The Swaraj Awards are organised to honour farmers, social services institutions, educational institutions etc., who have contributed to the Agriculture ecosystem and worked immensely to bring change.

The Award was organised in association with the “Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare, Government of India”. The theme of the award was “Farm Mechanization & Technological interventions in agriculture”.

During the daylong event, the Chief Guest Narendra Singh Tomar talked about the challenges faced by the Agriculture sector and the schemes the Central Government has for Indian farmers.

Harish Chavan, CEO of Swaraj Division, said - “Agriculture is crucial to India's economic growth. Farm mechanisation and agritech have a key role in increasing the productivity and efficiency of marginalised Indian farmers. We aim to adopt affordable, sustainable, and accessible agri mechanisation on Indian farmlands to increase productivity that turns the Indian sector into Atmanirbhar (Self-reliant)”.

Adding to the keynote address, Chavan said — “At Swaraj Tractors, we live by the motto of ‘Transform Farming and Enrich Lives”. Swaraj Awards not only facilitate achievements but explain the needs and problems of the agri sector. It also gives us an opportunity to reach out to farmers and their communities directly”.

Award hosted various key government officials and dignitaries from the field of agriculture. And panel discussions and technical sessions were held on topics related to agriculture’s efficient, affordable, and accessible technologies to make India ‘Atmanirbhar’.

The Swaraj Awards 2022 were awarded in seven categories. Here are the categories and the winners:
