Mahindra Tractor Sales Declined by 14% in July 2022

Mahindra Farm Equipment announced the domestic and export Mahindra tractor sales report July 2022.

Mahindra & Mahindra recently evaluated its July 2022 sales (domestic + export) numbers and saw a tremendous fall in sales by 14%. The dominating tractor brand both domestically and internationally sold only 23,307 tractor units in July 2022 (as compared to the same period in the last year, which was 27,229 units).

While talking about their domestic tractor sales data, it was compiled to 21,684 units as against their 2021’s July sale, which was 25769 units (flagging almost 16% loss).

Hemant Sikka, President of Farm Equipment Sector at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. added to their declining performance, “We have sold 21684 tractors in the domestic market during July 2022. Monsoon, which is a key factor of Agri growth, has stayed late this season. Overall rainfall has been higher than normal barring a few states in Eastern part of the country which were receiving less rainfall till now. As these states are the country's key paddy producing markets, recovering rainfall is crucial. Also, the festive season falling in the later half of August and sufficient rainfall across most geographies will redefine the industry even further.”

In Q1 we were able to achieve 18% volume growth. And on the export front, we were able to sell 1623 tractors, leading to 11% volume growth compared to last year — added Hemant.
