Domestic Tractors Sales Report August 2024: Sales Drop By 5.39%, 50134 Units Sold

The latest report on domestic tractor sales for August 2024 reveals a drop of 5.39% compared to August 2023. In August 2024, the top companies in the industry sold only 50134 units, and in the previous year, sales were 52991 units. Despite this, financial experts are hopeful and believe the upcoming financial year will bring new opportunities.

Domestic Tractor Sales Report August 2024 - Brand Wise

The market leader for years in the domestic tractor space, Mahindra, announced a fall in its sales by 0.62% in August 2024 compared to that of the year before, even as the firm's market share expanded by 1.96%. In absolute numbers, Mahindra sold 20,518 tractors in August 2024 against 20,647 in the year-ago month.

The report adds that TAFE Group, the second-largest tractor maker in India, also saw sales fall by 15.05% and a decrease in its market share of almost 1.87%. Furthermore, TAFE sold 8,247 tractors in August 2024, while the August 2023 sale stood at 9,708 units.

According to the Domestic Tractor Sales Report Aug 2024, Sonalika sold around 6,493 tractors in August 2024, while the company's sales in August 2023 were 6,984, a clear cut by 7.03%. However, the market share for Sonalika decreased by 0.23%.

Escorts Tractors sold 5,205 tractors in August 2024, against the 5,198 tractors it sold in August 2023, higher by 0.13%, but their market share increased by 0.57%.

In the month of August 2024, John Deere sold only 4,770 tractors, depicting a downward trend from last year's figure of 4,986 units. As per the Domestic Tractor Sales Report of August 2024, the sales of John Deere declined by 4.33%, while its market share improved by 0.11%.

In Aug 2024, New Holland sold 2,321 tractors, a 5.02% raise compared to the previous year, which was 2210 units of tractors. On the other hand, the brand's market share saw a positive growth of 0.46%.

The excellent top tractor manufacturing firm, Kubota, from Japan, saw their sales drop by 16.36%. They managed to sell 1,038 units during August 2024. It was a significant decrease compared to 1,241 units in the same month of 2023. However, notwithstanding this drop, the company registered a market share decrease of 0.27%.

The Punjab-based Preet Tractor also registered a low performance. According to the Domestic Tractor Sales Report for August 2024, the company sold 349 tractors for the month. This is, in fact, lower by 17.88% compared to the same period last year, when the company had sold 425 tractors during August 2023. The market share also dropped by almost 0.11% for the company.

Indo Farm Tractor continued to have a tough season, more or less similar to other companies. They could sell only 322 tractors compared to last year's 440, showing a drop in sales of about 26.82%. Their market share has dipped by almost 0.19% now.

In August 2024, VST Tillers and Tractors Ltd. could sell only 315 units. This number reduced drastically from the 310 units they had managed to sell in August 2023. This an increase of 1.61%, and their market share also reduced by 0.04%.

The report indicates that Captain Tractor managed to sell 301 units in August 2024. This is a reduction in sales as opposed to the previous year's same month when they sold 550 units. This means that Captain Tractor experienced a reduction in its sales by around 45.27%. Although sales were reduced, its market share dropped by 0.44%.

In comparison, ACE Tractors also suffered a drop of around 13.25% in their sales, and their market share dropped by approximately 0.04%.

In August 2024, SDF Tractors sold around 39 units, which is 9.30% less compared to last year's sales volume of 43 units. However, the market share remained the same with no loss or gain.
