Domestic Tractor Sales Recorded 51.3% Hike in November 2020 : Wholesale

In this pandemic year, domestic tractor sales recorded 51.3% growth in November. 82330 units of tractor sales registered in November 2020 and on the other hand 54434 units of tractor sales were recorded in November 2019. Which clearly shows a huge rise in domestic tractor sales.

Let’s check out below the brand wise domestic tractor sales report with their market share. 

Last month was a great for the no. 1 tractor brand Mahindra Tractors. They recorded a 54.89% rise this month. The tractor sales registered in November 2020 is 31619 units against 20414 Units in November 2019.  Along with this, Mahindra gained 0.90% of market share. 

Commenting on the performance, Hemant Sikka, President - Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, "We have sold 31,619 tractors in the domestic market during November 2020, a growth of 55% over last year. Demand continues to be robust fueled by an excellent festive season with retails being strong during Dhanteras and Diwali. Rural sentiments remain positive on account of higher Kharif output and Rabi sowing. Procurement operations for kharif are on full swing which would keep the rural cash flows healthy. The government's focus on rural growth continues and outlay under Atmanirbhar Bharat 3.0 will provide further fillip to the industry. In the exports market, we have sold 1,107 tractors, a growth of 79% over last year."

In November 2020, Tafe domestic tractor sales displayed a 52.50% hike. The company registered 14074 units of domestic tractor sales in November 2020, which is 4845 units more in comparison to November 2019 Tafe domestic tractor sales. Additionally, brand secures 0.14% of market share. 

India’s Fastest growing tractor brand Sonalika records highest domestic sales in November 2020. It registered 11478 units in November’20, and in November 2019 Sonalika tractor sales were 6728 units. It displays a huge growth of 70.60% in tractor sales. With this, Sonalika gained 1.58% of market share this month. 

Speaking his thoughts, Mr. Raman Mittal, Executive Director, Sonalika Group, said, “I am pleased to share that our strategy to offer customised farming solutions has won us the farmer’s trust in our technologically advanced products. This noteworthy trust has powered us to surpass industry growth month after month by a significant margin. Sonalika has sold 11,478 tractors in November’20, registering a remarkable 71% growth which is the highest in the industry and powered us to surpass the industry growth of 49%(Est.).

Escorts tractors registered 30.94% increase in domestic tractor sales. Escorts November 2020 tractor sales noted down 9662 units and in November 2019, tractor sales were 7379 units. But, the Escorts group faced 1.82% decrease in market share. 

Escorts said the dealer and depot stocks continue to be low. "Stock correction in the coming months would continue to push the industry upwards, supported by healthy water reservoir levels and a good harvest. The supply chain still is volatile but should improve going forward." the company said. The demand is driven fundamentally because of higher crop production, good crop prices, sufficient availability of water and easy availability of finance. We expect demand momentum to continue and supply chain issues smoothened out in the next few months. Inflation in commodity prices remains a worry.

John Deere Tractors also registered 50.4% of growth in the domestic tractor market. The John Deere tractor brand sold 7825 units in November 2020, and in November 2019, their tractor sales were 5202 units. However, they lost market share by only 0.05% in this month.  

New Holland Tractor sales recorded a 15.80% rise in this month. It displayed 2821 units of domestic tractor sales in November 2020, which is 385 units more than the November 2019 domestic tractor sales report. But, this time, New Holland lost 1.05% of market share. 

Kubota tractor also obtained a high jump of 95.83% domestic tractor sales. Additionally, Japanese tractor brands keep up with 0.57% of market share in November 2020. In November 2019, Kubota domestic tractor sales were 1056 units.  

VST Tractor sold 704 units in the month of November 2020, and in November 2019, VST domestic tractor sales were 504 units, which shows 39.68% growth in VST domestic tractor sales. This time the company losses 0.07% of market share. 

Preet Tractor sales recorded 485 units in November 2020, and in November 2019, sales were 210 units. That displays Preet tractor sales increased by 130.95%. Along with this, they maintained 0.20% of market share this month. 

Indo Farm Tractor recorded 47.48% of boom Tractor sales domestically in the month of November 2020. Which is quite immersive as Indo Farm company sold 410 units of the tractor in November 2020, and in November 2019, they sold 278 units of tractors. 

Captain Tractor domestic sales registered this month is 363 units which increased by 153.85% as compared to November 2019. They also maintained 0.18% of market share this month. 

Force tractor registered gain in domestic tractor sales. They acquired 60.78% of growth in November 2020 by selling 328 units. 

SDF domestic tractor sales decreased by 43.58%. Along with this, SDF also lost 0.52% of market share in November 2020. 

ACE Tractor sales registered 20.81% growth in November 2020. Their sales were 238 units in November 2020, which is 41 units more than sales in November 2019. They lost 0.07% of market share this month.
