Domestic Tractor Sales Increased By 0.34% in October 2021

The positive news for the tractor industry is that this festive season domestic sales improved by 0.34%. As a result, total tractor sales were 115542 units in Oct 2021 against 115155 units in Oct 2020. This collected data shows an optimistic hope for the coming festive season.

Mahindra Tractor sales recorded 0.37 decline. In Oct 2020, Mahindra Tractor domestic sales were 45588 units, and in Oct 2021, it was recorded at 45420 units. That shows 168 unit decline. And, Mahindra tractor also lost 0.16% market share this month.
 
Commenting on the performance, Hemant Sikka, President - Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “We have sold 45420 tractors in the domestic market during October 2021 over last year. With rapid Covid vaccination drive exceeding 100 crore doses in the country, the economy has started gaining momentum, while rural economic activity continues to be resilient. The monsoon, though normal at cumulative level, has been back ended with heavy rainfall in September and October. This has resulted in delayed harvesting of Kharif crop, while leading to higher reservoir levels and moisture content for Rabi crop. Expectation of a good Kharif harvest, coupled with good preparations for Rabi crop and the upcoming festivities, will boost positive sentiments and drive demand in the coming months. In the exports market, we have sold 1597 tractors with a growth of 65% over last year.”
 
TAFE Group Tractor sales recorded double digit growth this Oct 2021. The brand recorded 21814 units in Oct 2021, and in Oct 2020 it was 19042 units which is an evident 14.54% growth in this month. Along with this, the TAFE Group also gained 2.40% of the market share.

 
Sonalika Tractor recorded 14000 units sales in Oct 2021, and 14000 units were sold in Oct 2020 as well. This shows that the Sonalika Tractor company did not gain or lose.
 
Sharing his thoughts on the performance, Mr Raman Mittal, Executive Director, Sonalika Tractors, said “Festive season is mostly the time when farmers are more than willing to upgrade their existing tractor range with advanced technologies that could further increase their productivity as well as income. I feel overwhelmed to announce that the supreme trust of farmers in Sonalika’s heavy duty portfolio has once again enabled us to set new benchmark in our magnificent journey. We have clocked our highest ever YTD Oct’21 sales of 85,068 units with 6.56% growth. In line with Sonalika’s DNA of keeping farmer’s requirements at the core, we started preparing ourselves after Q1 FY’22 itself so that our customised tractors offer the best value for money package to farmers across the world. I also feel excited to share that we have also registered 17,130 overall tractor sales in October’21 to register 5.5% growth, surpassing industry growth (est: 3.6%) .
 
Escorts Tractor sales lost by approximately 3.27% in Oct 2021, with sales of 12749 units against 13180 units in Oct 2020. Along with this, the company's domestic market share decreased by 0.38%.

Escorts Agri Machinery said the festival period of Navratri and Dussehra witnessed good footfalls and delayed sowing and harvesting cycle of the current Rabi crop augurs well for festive retails for industry during November too. "This coupled with overall positive rural sentiments on account of good rainfall , expected good yield and crop production, higher crop MSPs and better retail finance availability," the company said.
 
John Deere tractors registered a 7.48% decrease in their domestic tractor sales, reported 11078 units Tractor sales in Oct 2021 against 11973 units sold during Oct 2020. John Deere company’s market share also decreased by 0.78%.

New Holland Tractor faces a huge loss, sales declined by 16.71% in comparison to Oct 2020. They sold 4153 units in Oct 2021, and in Oct 2020, they sold 4968 units. This shows sales dropped by 833 units. Along with this, the company also lost its market share by 0.72% in Oct 2021.
 
Kubota Tractor registered 2527 units of tractor sales in Oct 2021 against 2325 units which exhibit 8.69% growth. Along with this, the company gained a 0.17% market share in this month.
 
Preet Tractor also registered 6.90% growth in domestic tractor sales. As it registered 852 units sold in Oct 2021 and in Oct 2020, the sales were 797 units.
 
In Oct 2021, Vst Tractor domestic sales noted 846 units, 23.23% lower than the domestic tractor sales recorded in Oct 2020. Vst Tractor also lost 0.22% of market share in Oct 2021. 
 
Indo Farm Tractor domestic sales increased unbelievably. They recorded a 35.93% increase in domestic tractor sales in Oct 2021. With this, Indo Farm tractor also gained a 0.17% market share.
 
Force Tractors registered a 19.36% hike in domestic tractor sales in Oct 2021. The company sold 524 units in Oct 2021 and 439 units in Oct 2020. Along with this, the Force Tractors also gained market share by 0.07%.
 
Ace Tractor had sold out a total of 316 units of tractors in the domestic market during Oct 2021. It showed a good growth of 7.85% in Oct 2021, And, the company also grabbed 0.02% of the total market share.
 
Captain Tractor sold 281 units in Oct 2021, and in Oct 2020, the sales were 521 units, which shows a fall of 46.07%. Besides, the Captain Tractor lost its market share by 0.21% this month.
 
SDF Tractor - SDF domestic tractor sales decreased by 34.37% to 233 units in Oct 2021 against 355 units in Oct 2020. Along with this, 0.11% of the market share also decreased this month.
