Domestic Tractor Sales Figures Dropped by 6.35% During FY 2022

The domestic tractor sales have fallen a bit, we hope the upcoming season could bring in some positive results. But the current FY'22 (April'21 - March'22) Total tractor sales (wholesale) in the FY’22 stood at 8,42,266 units with a 6.35% degrowth over 899411 units sold in FY’21. 

Let’s check the whole statistical data of the tractor industry with its ups and downs.  

Domestic Tractor Industry Statistics - Brandwise 

Mahindra & Mahindra (Mahindra + Swaraj), the world’s No.1 tractor manufacturer, recorded a 1.97% degrowth in yearly total sales. Mahindra sold 337052 units in FY’22, which is 6781 units less compared to FY’21. And as a result, it has gained market share of 1.79% and also maintained the highest MS of 40.02% during FY’22.

TAFE Group (Massey Ferguson+ Eicher) registered an 8.63% degrowth in its yearly tractor sales with a fall of 0.45% market share. The company sales were 165795 units in FY’21, and now it decreased to 151481 units in this FY’22. 

Sonalika Tractors (Sonalika + Solis) yearly tractor sales decreased by 13.99% as they sold 101060 tractors during FY’22 against 117503 units in FY’21. Additionally, the company has lost its 1.07% market share.

Escorts Group (Farmtrac+Powertrac+Digitrac) recorded a fall of 14.41% in the yearly tractor sales. The company sales were reduced by selling 87168 tractors during FY’22 against 101849 units in FY’21. And due to negative sales in FY’22 compared to the last year, it also lost 0.97% market share. 

John Deere Tractors enclosed a 9.42% market share in FY’22, which is 0.10% less as compared to FY' 21. John Deere sold 79308 units in FY’22, which is 6294 units lesser than compared to the previous FY’21. 

New Holland tractor dropped the 10.54% yearly tractor sales by selling 32053 units in FY’22 compared to 35828 units sold during FY’21. Subsequently, the New Holland market share has also decreased by 0.18%. 

Kubota Tractor yearly sales increased by 25.5 % by selling 21104 units in FY’22. The company increased its market share by 0.64%, which is higher in the tractor industry after Mahindra during FY’22. 

Preet Tractor grabbed the market share of 0.18%, which was maintained at 0.85% during FY’22. It sold 7152 unit tractors that registered a positive growth of 18.92% compared to FY’21. 

Indo Farm Tractor sales grew by 50.29% in FY’22. It sold 6930 units in FY’22 compared to 4611 units in FY’21. Due to positive sales, Indo farm added 0.31% to its market share. 

VST Shakti’s domestic tractor sales decreased by 18.73 % in FY '22. The VST Shakti sold 6633 units in FY’22, which is 1529 units less as compared to the last FY’21. The total market share of the company decreased by 0.31%. 

Force Tractor has shown a good growth of 12.87% by selling 4516 tractors in FY’22 as compared to 4001 units in FY’21. Additionally, it added its market share by 0.09%. 

Captain Tractor registered a fall down of 16.42% by selling 3716 units in FY’22, decreasing which is less than 4446 units during FY’21. Herein, the market share of Captain tractors decreased by 0.05%. 

The ACE Tractor market share increased by 0.01% in FY’22. But it sold 2426 units in FY'22, which is 114 units less than the previous year.

SDF Tractor has recorded an overall rate which is diminished by 31.06% by selling 1667 tractors in FY’22, which is lower than 2418 units in the previous FY’21. Along with this declining sales, the company also lost its market shares by 0.07%
