The two-day Krishi Mahotsav in Kota on 24th & 25th Jan 2023 has finally ended. The event was a huge success. Here’s a summary of the two-day event.

In addition, the goal of this two-day Krishi Mahotsav was to promote and develop Kota’s agricultural sector and bring overall rural development.

As the day advanced, Om Birla, Lok Sabha Speaker, was seen driving a tractor to express its importance in farming.
The past inaugural ceremony of Krushi Mela in Kota was completed, and all ministers took notice of all 75 agri-startups available with their stalls and product offering on Dusshera ground.
Later in the day, Kailash Chaudhary, Union Minister & Lok Sabha Speaker, was seen flying drones from the stage to state the importance of adopting advanced farming technology. He talked to the farmers about the importance of drones in agriculture and how they can use them to spray pesticides and fertilisers.
To meet the growth possibilities, honourable ministers shared some valuable information with farmers & agriculturists.
Value Addition In farming is a Must - By Processing Production!
Om Birla said, "Farmers need to improve practices if they want to earn better. He further added that it’s high time to use the latest technologies to produce crops at a low cost. Moreover, farmers will have to add to their production by selling processed goods if they want to earn better.”
He said - countries Like the Netherlands & Mexico like Indian farm outputs. Moreover, he said during his visit to a country like Dubai, people there appreciated India’s Coriander. Also, Netherlands people like Bundi of Rajasthan.
Om Birla added that — “the growing production of millet would increase across the country, including Rajasthan. Moreover, the govt. is putting up a “Farmer Producer Organization” to support the processing & marketing of produced outputs. Through the “Agriculture Infrastructure Fund”, govt. aims to help farmers obtain farming equipment.
Lalchand Kataria, Rajasthan Minister, said — “ it’s high time for farmers to start including the latest farming technology if they want to cut down cost & increase margins.
Moreover, Udai Lal Anjana Cooperative Minister, shared that we now have 800 msp centres, compared to 250 centres earlier. This is a great opportunity for farmers to increase their crop sales.
Ministers discussed various future plans during the Kisan Krushi Pradarshan. One of them was to increase storage capacity with the availability of more godowns. Funds of Rs 2000 crores are mobilised to the cooperative dept. for MSP centres or similar purchases.
Over 35,000 farmers joined the event to enrich their knowledge and gain a better perspective on how they can increase farming yield. Agricultural universities, research institutes, and zonal agricultural centres are joining this two-day event.
Almost 150 stalls were in place to provide updated information on agriculture practices, inputs and farming tractors. Furthermore, to display the importance of startups, 75 stalls of agri-startups made a presence at the Krushi Pradarshan 2023.
During this Krishi Mahotsav, there were enriching training programmes for 5,000 farmers on agriculture, organic farming, horticulture and animal husbandry.
Various Central and State Government schemes were discussed to help farmers. In addition, private sector companies/institutions displayed agriculture inputs & commodities to help farmers seek best of the knowledge.
At Kisan Krushi Pradarshan in Kota, there was a special workshop around the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund to help farmers gain the best knowledge.
These events at the regional level help farmers attain the latest knowledge & techniques. With this, traditional agriculturists learn about sustainable farming practices that are capable of increasing their earning potential.
The bigger purpose of this program was to train, inform & engage farmers and agri-businesses. To help them understand options for advanced agriculture technology & production systems, machinery or farm mechanisation solutions.
